Birkenhead Priory & St Mary's Tower
The Benedictine Monastery established 1150 is the oldest building on Merseyside.  Much of the original building still remains and other parts have been sympathetically restored to their former stature. 
Visit the restored remains of St. Mary's Church dated 1822, climb the tower and experience the panoramic views of Liverpool's waterfront, the unmatched views across Birkenhead to Oxton Ridge, Bidston and the Wirral coast.

Southport Model Railway Village
This beautiful 1.5 acre LGB Garden Railway layout, has been tastefully designed and set inside one of the best miniature landscapes in the UK. With over 500 metres of 45 mm track and over 200 miniature features, the attraction is a big hit with all members of the family - especially children of all ages and the very young train enthusiast. Shore Road Pumping Station
This 4 storey building houses the restored 'Grasshopper' engine, a pump used to keep the Mersey Rail Tunnels free of water. There is a sophisticated audio-visual presentation and working models of the system to illustrate the story. A turn of the century street has been added in the grounds.

Egerton Bridge
A fine working example of a Birkenhead Bascule Bridge. It housed models and information about the Birkenhead Dock system which opened in 1847. Climb the iron stairway for a bird's eye view over Dockland and beyond and enjoy the audio-visual presentation.

Birkenhead Tramway

Birkenhead is the historic home of the first street tramway in Europe.  It was here on August 29 1860 that Europe's first tramway was established, running from Woodside to Birkenhead Park.  The trams you will ride on today may look and sound old but in fact they are fairly new!  You can board a tram at Woodside Visitor Centre and take a ride around the Heritage Trail, stopping off at Shore Road Pumping Station, Pacific Road and Egerton Bridge.

Liverpool Football Club Museum & Tour Centre
The Liverpool Football Club museum and tour centre celebrates all things Liverpool past, present and future. Including a re-creation of the standing Kop.  The stadium tour offers a chance to visit the dressing room, walk down the tunnel to the roar of the crowd, touch the famous "This is Anfield" sign and sit in the team dug-out.  The historic Treble is on display with photo opportunities.
The museum and tour centre was recently voted the best in the North West of England for customer care and has been enthusiastically supported by many famous Reds.

Southport Zoo
Southport Zoo is family run, and has been completely rebuilt since 1969. Carol and Doug Petrie have built up a varied collection of animals, all living in family groups. The breeding success of stock is very apparent as you walk around. We are playing a very small part in the preservation of the ever decreasing wildlife of the world, by working with the International Species Information System (ISIS), the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), and the Federation of Zoological Gardens of Great Britain & Ireland.  Within the Zoo, there is a schoolroom and a Natural history Museum, a picnic area, with a playground for smaller children, a Pets Corner Barn(for closer contact with furry friends) a Reptile House and Aquarium, Parrot House and Primate House, we even have a Hospital and Incubation room.

Jodrell Bank
The Jodrell Bank Visitor Centre is the visitor centre for the world famous Lovell Radio Telescope and the Jodrell Bank Observatory.
