- Empire Theatre |
The Empire is Liverpool’s premier venue for large, glitzy extravaganzas. From opera and ballet through to West-end shows such as Abba Gold and Les Miserables, the Empire continually states its place as one of the North West’s most popular venues.
Originally the Royal Alexander, the building was bought at auction for £30,000. Messrs Moss and Thornton (proprietors of the nationwide chain of Empire Theatres) opened the Liverpool Empire on 19th December 1896 after full refurbishment. This Victorian theatre with its dramatically steep upper gallery serves to enhance the productions and add to the enjoyment of all who visit.
The Empire usually hosts a full and varied programme of events throughout the year with ticket offers available for most productions. |
