Paintings and drawings from his early career will be displayed as well as his visionary images from his Pre-Raphaelite period and beyond. Grossology
Liverpool Museum
19 July – 2 November 2003
Information 0151 478 4399

Prepare to be completely grossed-out by Liverpool Museum's latest exhibition. Grossology splats, oozes and bursts its was through the science of the human body, from snot and smelliness to spots, warts and pimples!
Based on the children's best-selling book, the exhibition explores the good, the bad and the downright ugly ways that the human works. Through fun animatronics and interactives, it explores the hard science behind the most horrible of human functions.
This fascinating show will appeal to families, especially young children. It is based on the book 'Grossology' by teacher, writer, curriculum designer and microbiologist, Sylvia Branzei. It aims to educate as well as entertain. She says, "This is science in disguise. If we teach students in their own words, they'll understand better and actually learn something." Exhibition produced by Adavanced Animations, Stockbridge Vermont USA Grossology is a registered trademark of Penguin Putnam, Inc., USA
Spirit of the Blitz
Merseyside Maritime Museum & Museum of Liverpool Life

This major exhibition commemorates a powerful and important subject by recounting the experiences of those who lived and worked through the Second World War in Liverpool, in particular the Blitz bombing of May 1941. The profound effects that the war had on the community of Liverpool will be examined through the personal accounts of people who were there - a disappearing generation.
To accompany the exhibition the nearby Museum of Liverpool Life will feature a wartime garden and the Piermaster’s House will be converted into a 1940s house. There will also be a display of wartime vehicles in the Great Western Railway building.
